Spotlight on Wendel's

Spotlight on Wendel's
January 31, 2012
Although the recent snow fall and weather condition has caused a decrease in town traffic, there is no stopping the urge to take a stroll around beautiful Fort Langley with a mandatory stop at Wendel's.

Wendel's is a second home to many that live in the Fort and is a traditional stop for many out of towners. If you haven’t been there perhaps what's below will show you why its worth a visit!

Ethel & Wendel opened ‘Wendel’s’ in 1997 committed to the tradition of handmade, fresh, organic products. The community quickly noticed this small bookstore with a simple fresh food café and spread the word in support. They now employ over 30 people from the community (who are very happy, caring & cheerful) and have earned much respect. Since the start, “[They] have grown into a full fresh food restaurant, catering service and a wholesale manufacture of organic baked goods [Wendel's True Foods].”

“All products including salad dressings, salsas, soups, baking……are all made from real whole products. This means no pre-made muffin or cake mixes and it does mean all the lemon juice we use in our baking and in the lemonade we serve is hand squeezed.”  -Wendel's Website

However, It doesn’t end with great food. Wendel's worked closely with a small, local company called "Moja Coffee” to create unique, custom, organic blends just for them, and the results have created the highest quality of coffee to make your drink! (Winter Favorite: Peppermint Mocha, Spring Favorite: Passion Tea Lemonade, Fall Favorite: Autumn Mocha, Summer Favorite: Caramel Frappuccino)

Did we mention they also have a Book Club that meets monthly and if you're a member you get a 20% discount? Or that they also have a “Buyers Reward Program” (at no cost) for both their Cafe & Bookstore? Yup. Guess you will just have to pay a visit to keep the good news coming!
